Korean Ice Cream Galore
Moi with Tutapel and my nephews/nieces at Nice Mart Korean Grocery
If you want to try Korean ice cream out of sheer curiosity or to please a loved one or friend who's deeply into Korean culture, or you're simply looking for the newest ice cream types available – then you're in for a treat!
I've compiled a list of 19 Korean Ice Cream types, just 1 shy of twenty, that we've already tried, together with some of our thoughts on these products plus our corresponding rating on each kind.
Let's begin.
1. Cled'or Berrymix (Php 65)
This is Korea's answer to Magnum ice cream, and I have to say that Cled'or Berrymix delivered more dimension to the palate through the infusion of berries. Tangy and sweet at the same time and enveloped with that sweet chocolatey taste, the ice cream bar had a rich flavor that nudged me to crave more.
In the vernacular, hindi nakakasuya ang lasa. Even though Cled'or is more expensive than Magnum by around Php 10, the extra charge was worth it.
MY RATING:
♪♪♪ Fantastic! It's on my list of favorites.
2. Cled'or Almond Cone (Php 65)
The product's visual appeal came primarily from the generous almond toppings, caramelized for that extra flavor. It also didn't melt fast compared to some of our local drumsticks. Truly a must-try!MY RATING:
♪♪♪ Fantastic! It's on my list of favorites.
3. Melona Melon (Php 23)
I first tasted Melona Melon in 2010 when I discovered that this was Bebe Rain's favorite ice cream. When I finally got to taste it, I understood why he loved it. It was super creamy, tangy, and sweet to a certain degree and filled my mouth with freshness!
MY RATING:
♪♪♪ Fantastic! It's on my list of favorites.
4. Melona Strawberry (Php 25)
Sweeter than Melona Melon but still boasting of that welcome creaminess, Melona Strawberry enlivened the palate with fresh strawberries in every bite.
MY RATING:
♪♪♪ Fantastic! It's on my list of favorites.
5. Melona Mango (Php 25)
Of the three Melona flavors, Mango is my favorite. Its sweet 'n' tangy taste was similar to that of Melona Melon's sans the exotic aftertaste, which brought out Melona's creamy nature even more.
MY RATING:
♪♪♪ Fantastic! It's on my list of favorites.
6. Kamacoon Black Crunch Bar (Php 35)
This is my go-to bar! No matter the weather, its crunchy, chocolatey taste comforts me beyond reason. And the fact that it is not as sweet as our local pinipig bar always prompts me for a second helping without fail.
MY RATING:
♪♪♪ Fantastic! It's on my list of favorites.
7. Chapsalttuk (Php 55)
Since I'm a huge fan of mochi ice cream, I didn't pass up the chance to try Lotte's well-loved product. What's not to love about this unique ice cream ball wrapped in thin glutinous rice film with a hint of green tea? Never mind that it was messy whenever I took a bite. Tasting Chapsalttuk was worth my sticky hands and the ice cream stains on my clothes and the floor.
MY RATING:
♪♪♪ Fantastic! It's on my list of favorites.
8. Encho (Php 25)
Binggrae's Enriched Chocolate Bar, or Encho for short, is my nephew's and nieces' favorite. What's not to love? The rich chocolate at the center makes every bite fun and incredibly satisfying. It would be a sin to ignore Encho's luscious taste.
♪♪♪ Fantastic! It's on my list of favorites.
9. Yomomte Kiwi (Php 25)
Fresh kiwi taste in every bite? No kidding! Its delightful tangy taste dotted with kiwis blended well with the bar's creamy nature to a tee.
MY RATING:
♪♪♪ Fantastic! It's on my list of favorites.
10. Lotte Crispy Crunch & Sweet Strawberry (Php 25)
I decided to try this ice cream bar because it resembles my favorite Kamacoon Black Crunch Bar. But that's where their similarity ended. I found the Lotte Crispy Crunch & Sweet Strawberry way sweeter than Kamacoon, which I didn't appreciate. The luscious chocolate coating competed in a way with its rich strawberry filling, which made this fusion quite over the top if you ask me.
MY RATING:
♪♪ Good. It's worth a try.
11. Boong Samanko ( Php 45)
Most of my friends love this particular ice cream. Sadly, I'm not one of them. Although its red bean filling was delish, and its shape was fun, I wasn't won over by its flat, one-dimensional taste. I expected more from this product, that's all.
MY RATING:

12. Alchoco Bar (Php 30)
Although its chocolate taste wasn't rich initially, the presence of nips-like treats hidden inside the bar handle made the experience fun and exciting.

13. Coffee Flavored Iced Bar (Php 25)
I love its nutty, semi-sweet shell, oozing with an enriched coffee taste. Perfect for those looking for a mild caffeine punch.

15. Pangtoa Choco (Php 45)
I should have brought my appetite when I bought this, for it was filling. I thought that I couldn't finish it all. This was indeed carbs incarnate, with the rich ice cream sandwiched by two chiffon bread.
MY RATING:
♪♪ Good. It's worth a try.
16. Pangtoa Cookies & Cream (Php 45)
When I tried Pangtoa Choco, I didn't think I could finish this ice cream sandwich. This variant is more delish than the Pangtoa Choco because of its subtle taste na hindi nakakasuya.
MY RATING:
♪♪ Good. It's worth a try.
17. Wild Body (Php 30)
What a name! Well, what made it wild was the fusion of chocolates and coffee, which explained the mild caffeine punch I got when I tasted it.

♪♪ Good. It's worth a try.
18. Wako Wako (Php 55)
My niece Kathlynish loved this one, but not me. For starters, the taste was not worth raving about, and the fact that the cone crumbled in every bite and created a mess around me were good enough reasons not to try it again.
MY RATING:
♪ I think I need to pass on this one.
19. Ppang Parae Vanilla (Php 50)
Once again, my niece Kathlynish loved this particular ice cream because of the surprise flavor hidden at the bottom. Unfortunately, I never reached that point because I ditched it halfway for lack of taste.
MY RATING:
