Snippet # 1: Musings on Henry Blackaby's Created to be God's Friend

We all have a favorite book. Something that makes our hearts race and grips our attention on every page. A book that we can only put down once we reach the very end.
I have just that. It's none other than Henry Blackaby's "Creating to be God's Friend." To be honest, I've lost count of how many times I've read it. It has been an inspiration in my life journey, most especially when I started praying specifically for a son. Well, unlike Sarah, I didn't have to wait until I was 90 to have one! 😍

In fact, during my devotionals, I've begun reviewing the book once again. Two particular thoughts struck me in the process. And they both tackled the subject of worship in Abraham's life.

THOUGHT # 1

On page 86 of the book, Blackaby wrote:

"But God wanted him [Abraham] to know Him, and His provision and protection, even in famine. God had just promised to bless Abram. This means in all circumstances, at all times, under all conditions."

THOUGHT # 2

A similar train of thought occurred on page 98 when the author said:

"Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your exceedingly great reward.' [Genesis 15:1]. All that was God, including all He could do and all He possessed, was promised to Abraham. God withholds nothing from those who trust Him."

Did you feel more assured and calm after reading these passages, too?

If you did, then reading the whole book will work wonders not just for your mental health but for your faith in general.
